Pre-Dresden Days Events Planned
Celebrating what makes us Great!
July is the month when we rejoice in all that makes Dresden the number one tourist destination in southeastern Ohio. To add to the celebration, we've decided to have pre-party events to kick it off! Below is a breakdown of the festivities:
Wednesday, July 23 - Dresden Family Day: Picnic off Main Street beginning at 5 pm with Music, Beer Garden, Games, and lots of fun. Pack yourself a blanket and picnic basket and come enjoy the fun!
Thursday, July 24 - Open Mic Night: Come show your talents singing karaoke on the stage at 6th and Main Streets.
Friday, July 25 - First annual DVA Cornhole Tournament at the corner of 6th and Main Streets. Entry fee is $20 per team. Contest begins at 6 pm and will continue until 9 pm. Live entertainment, food, beverages and other games will also be available. Prizes will be awarded. Sponsored by Griffin Graphics and The Depot Restaurant & Pub.

Dresden Days 2008
Changing This unBEElievable Event to a Week Long Celebration!
Dresden Days will be held July 26 - August 1, 2008, kicking off the event with a 2-day vendor event July 26-27. Main Street will be filled with a variety of vendors selling retired Longaberger(R) baskets and accessories, as well as jewelry, handmade crafts, clothing, home decor, pottery and art related items.
Dresden Shops and vendors will be open Saturday, July 27th from 9 am - 6 pm and Sunday, July 26th from 10 am - 4 pm. Be sure to stop by the Dresden Welcome Center tent for
try your luck at our BEE GAMES.
We will hold our 1st annual Dresden Block Party on Saturday evening, 6 pm - 10 pm for all visitors, vendors and the community to enjoy with live entertainment, food, games and a beer garden available. Joe Banana and the Bunch will be our featured band.
The Dresden United Methodist Church will be serving lunch on July 26, July 29 and August 1, 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Buses are welcome and call in orders are available by calling 740-754-2848.
Dresden Days will continue July 28 - August 1 with a daily Sidewalk Sale. The local shops will have unBEElievable deals so BUZZ on in to Dresden for a HONEY of a good time. Friday, August 1 - The Depot Restaurant & Pub will host popular entertainer Reb Robinson from 8 - 11 pm on the Patio (weather permitting). Reb has entertained the Dresden Days crowd for the past three years. Come relax and enjoy as we conclude the 2008 Dresden Days.
Dresden Celebrates Grandma Bonnie's 100th Birthday with
the World's Largest Birthday Card
For the past month, the Dresden Village Association has filled over 20 pages of notes and signatures for the World's Largest Birthday Card which was presented to Grandma Bonnie (as she is affectionately referred to) on her 100th Birthday.
Over 1,000 people signed personal notes and well wishes for the centenarian. She was recognized by Willard Scott on the Today Show and Dresden Mayor Robert Lane proclaimed July 16th as "Grandma Bonnie Day."
Bonnie and her late husband J.W. raised their 12 children in Dresden and is known for her kind, compassionate character. She is a lifetime member of the Dresden Village Association.
"Dresden Dollars" Now Available
The Dresden Welcome Center is selling "Dresden Dollars", which is a gift certificate redeemable at any participating Dresden business. Dresden Dollars are only sold at the Welcome Center (414 Main Street), however they can be used at over 25 businesses in Dresden, including retail shops, bed & breakfasts, and restaurants. All you have to do is present your certificate with your purchase and we handle the rest.

Bringing a Group or Bus Tour to Dresden?
Register your group tour to Dresden with the Dresden Welcome Center and receive the “Welcome to Dresden” bag, full of discounts, gift certificates and special offers from area merchants. When registering a Group Tour of 15 or more passengers, you automatically receive this bag (one month prior to your trip). You can also order the Dresden Visitors Guide for everyone on your bus. In addition to information on Dresden and area attractions, the Welcome Center is within easy walking distance to many area merchants. The Welcome Center is open 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday – Saturday and 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday (April 1 - December 1). Winter hours are 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday - Saturday, closed Sunday.
